The Namibian Association of Metal Fabrication (NAMF) is a voluntary association that exist to represent, promote and grow the interests of its members. NAMF is a direct result of the public-private collaboration driving the implementation of the Metal Fabrication Industry’s Growth @ Home Strategy launched by the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and SME Development (MITSMED) in November 2016. NAMF was hence founded on 22 September 2017 after engagement with some key players in the metal fabrication sector and officially inaugurated by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of MITSMED, Dr Micheal Humavindu on 18 April 2018.
In that capacity, NAMF recently had a meeting with the Minister of Industrialization, Trade, and SME Development, Honorable Tjekero Tweya to discuss the alarming status of local manufacturing in the Metal Industry. After this positive engagement, NAMF has since committed to assist the government with data collection to establish current local production, market demand, imports and how the government can support the local manufacturing industry.
NAMF would therefore urge all manufacturers and fabricators in the metal industry to provide us with a list of your product data applicable to your current production capabilities.
